MBS is a 50:50 partnership between Michael Ferrand & Fran Stanley.
Mike and Fran established the company in 2002. Since then they have
worked together, and separately, in a wide range of businesses. See

Prior to starting MBS Michael held a number of senior retail roles,
including that of Asia Pacific Regional CEO for leading book and
stationery retailer WH Smith. His background includes General
Management roles in New Zealand and ten years with Marks and Spencer
in the UK. He has broad experience in multi-category and specialty
retail in both Australia and New Zealand.
Michael has been involved at Board level in a variety of sales and
acquisitions. He currently holds Independent Directorships on a
number of Boards.
Fran trained as a journalist but spent most of her early career in
marketing. She held senior marketing roles at Tip Top Ice Cream Co.
and Lion Nathan before specializing in retail companies. Fran spent
seven years at Whitcoulls fulfilling roles as General Manager (NZ)
and Chief Operating Officer (Australasia).
Since forming MBS Fran has focused on strategic plan development and
implementation. This work has encompassed a range of large and small
projects which have been successfully implemented.
